BAD SERVICE. I had never had an experience like this. Yesterday we went out to see the center of Rome with my family and we passed near "la Botte Antica" when a waiter stopped us and convinced us to enter. When we were inside we decided to only eat the dessert (gelato) because a family member was going to pick us up in 15 minutes. When we ordered the ice cream I asked the waiter if it was okay, and he said there was no problem. They brought us ice cream and when we were starting to eat, one of the waiters passed by our table and looked at us badly. After a moment he passed by our table again and loudly began to complain that we had ordered ice cream... Just imagine trying to eat ice cream with your aunt and cousin with 2 waiters staring at you in a bad way! But that was not all. One of the waiters started speaking loudly in Italian thinking we didn't understand, the waiter was angry and indignant that we had ordered ice cream. He said that we should know the difference between a restaurant and a bar, that if we came to a restaurant it was to eat and a bar to order ice cream. But what I don't understand is why he didn't tell us from the beginning that it was a problem. It was horrible! I felt very embarrassed because there were other people in the restaurant listening to everything. We couldn't take the humiliation any longer so we got up and left the ice cream unfinished. One of the waiters saw that we got up from the table and quickly asked us if something had bothered us, so we told him that we had heard and understood everything they were talking about us. The waiter who had spoken badly about us came over and made the excuse that he wasn't talking about us... but it was very awkward apart from having ruined the moment for us. We left the restaurant without finishing the ice cream and paying for what they didn't let us eat in peace. Service: Dine in Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
