We arrived early at 18:00 when the restaurant was still empty, which was a great decision. We started with sardines& sourdough bread and a nice cocktail with cedar sprout, grape juice and something bubbly. We chose a 4 course menue& were surprised with cooked reedbeet& horseradish, pork chop in a berhoney sauce with apple vinaigrette, whole wheat pasta with topinambur mousse& chips, bacon, coffee dressing, best quince sorbet with an cream cheese foam& pumkin seed croquant. I can neither understand nor confirm these reviews, some of which are very positive. The concept of the kitchen is good and the quality is okay, but completely overpriced. 125 francs for a simple four-course meal with two glasses of wine and coffee is not entirely unreasonable even for Zurich. But you simply don't get enough, both in terms of quantity (why do you save on vegetables?) and quality (meat was tough and the coffee was simply inedible; I say that as a coffee fan, a piece of cheese as a dessert course is also fine not at all). What was also found to be disturbing is this exaggerated form of self-expression; We only offer that because quality and focus and us and we us us etc. That just gets on your nerves and you forget that the guest doesn't have to be confronted with such rigid self-views. You order what you like and then you don't need any instructions from the service to explain why, for example, you don't have this drink on offer. In total; quite nice, but never ever worth the money that is asked for it. Our visit to the "Wirtschaft im Franz" in Zurich - a culinary highlight that will be remembered. The service was not only competent and friendly, but also authentic, which made the evening particularly pleasant. The menu was a dream: excellent quality, local and seasonal dishes, extremely creative compositions that thrilled with exciting, complex but always honest taste experiences. The restaurant itself was stylish, modern and yet cozy, perfect for an unforgettable evening. A big compliment to the kitchen and the service.
