We had a truly beautiful experience at Queen Idia. It's not just about the food, it's about the warmth of the place. The family who runs it is incredibly kind and welcoming. You immediately feel at home. We tried Egusi with Fufu. The flavours were rich and comforting. The egusi was perfectly spiced and full of depth, and the fufu had just the right texture. We also had fried yam and plantains, served with a delicious sauce. And then there’s the Palm Drink, slightly tangy, earthy, and refreshing. My new favourite! The atmosphere is relaxed, no unnecessary frills, just good food and real hospitality. It’s the kind of place you remember, not because it’s fancy, but because it feels genuine. A True Taste of Home in Zurich! I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Queen Idia African Restaurant in Zurich, and I must say—it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I stepped in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made me feel right at home. The space has a cozy, homey vibe that immediately puts you at ease, like you're stepping into Auntie's kitchen back home. I ordered five dishes: meat pie, moi moi, ogbono soup, egusi, and goat pepper soup—and every single bite was a nostalgic journey to the flavors of Nigeria. The meat pie was flaky and savory, the moi moi was perfectly textured, and the soups were rich, authentic, and bursting with flavor. You can truly taste the love and tradition in every dish. A special shoutout to Auntie and Arnold, the young man helping out—they were both incredibly kind, polite, and attentive. Their hospitality made the experience even more special. It’s rare to find such genuine service, especially when paired with such excellent food. If you're craving authentic African food in Zurich, Queen Idia is a must-visit.
