We are sorry that your concert experience did not meet your expectations and would therefore like to briefly reply.We received a lot of positive feedback about the Marc Broussard concert, and especially during the second half of the show the atmosphere among the audience was great. This once again shows that concertgoers’ perceptions—particularly regarding the sound—can vary greatly on the same evening.As a listed historic factory building, the Papiersaal has a unique architecture and atmosphere. Over the past 19 years of hosting concerts, we have adapted the stage setup and sound system to the depth of the room in order to provide the best possible concert experience. The special 180° stage area offers three audience zones (side and front), allowing the concert to be experienced from different angles. The sound system is adjusted equally on all three sides, meaning there are no acoustic differences between the sides and the front.The advantage is that people can stand close to the stage from different sides and, ideally, a sense of concert intimacy can develop. Every year we welcome many regular guests who particularly appreciate this intimate setting, and we are very grateful for that. However, this is also a matter of personal taste.To improve visibility, once a certain number of people is reached we install small platforms on all sides so that there are not many people standing at the same level in front of others. Of course, at home with headphones and the right equipment it is possible to create a completely undisturbed listening experience, but we believe that a live concert is also about the energy between the act and the audience as well as the shared experience, which makes the comparison difficult.We hope these explanations at least address some of the need for clarification and that you might visit the Papiersaal again for a different kind of event.To somewhat compensate for the shortened concert evening, we would be happy to offer you two guest list spots (please send us a DM via the website).With kind regards,The Papiersaal Team
