Disappointing experience with discrimination Unfortunately, I had an extremely disappointing experience with the Restaurant & Bar Talacker in Zurich, which I would like to share. When I wanted to make a reservation for 15 people in February using my Tamil name, I called to make sure there was enough space. I was assured over the phone that there was enough space and was asked to send an email. After I wrote the relevant email, I received a surprisingly rude rejection from the manager, claiming that there was no more space available. This is extremely strange because another employee told me on the phone that there was enough space. I find it particularly difficult to accept that my colleague with a Swiss name made a reservation for a similar number of people on the same day and at the same time and was politely told that there was enough space. It is sad and unacceptable that discrimination still takes place in the 21st century, especially in a place like Zurich, which is so diverse and visited by people from many different backgrounds. Such practices should not be tolerated and I hope that the management of Restaurant & Bar Talacker takes this seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent such incidents in the future. At Talacker we maintain a respectful environment with all our guests and employees. We receive dozens of reservation requests every week and the reservation status changes every day with cancellations and new confirmations. To date, our standard email for rejections has never been denounced as unfriendly. The worst/rudest bouncer who randomly refuses to let parts of the group in! They think they are gods or rule the universe!!! I felt so humiliated and never going back there again.
