I recently stayed at Fairmont Le Montreux Palace with my family, expecting a five-star experience, but unfortunately, it did not live up to its reputation. From the moment we arrived, the service was disappointing. We were not warmly welcomed, and the porter questioned whether we were even guests of the hotel as we unloaded our car. This was not the greeting we expected from a luxury establishment. Navigating the hotel was also inconvenient. Several elevators were out of service, forcing us to take different lifts in various parts of the building. It was quite cumbersome, especially when carrying luggage or moving around with family. In terms of room comfort, we were surprised to find that they do not offer queen-size beds. Instead, there were two separate single beds, which were not attached to anything, making them slide apart during the night. Additionally no duvet but something like a blanket - I was cold. This made it impossible to sleep comfortably together with my spouse. Additionally, the noise from outside was quite disturbing, likely due to the hotel's central location. The most disappointing part of our stay was breakfast. The atmosphere felt more like a fast-food chain than a five-star hotel. The rushed service and the pressure we felt from the staff to finish quickly were very unpleasant. It completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing morning. On a positive note, the spa area was enjoyable, offering a pleasant escape from the overall disappointing experience. However, given the high cost of our stay, the value for money was very poor. We expected a much higher level of service and comfort. Overall, this was not a good experience, and I will not be considering Fairmont Le Montreux Palace for future stays ever. I expected much better from a hotel of this caliber. Service: 1

The service and welcome you described are far below the high standards we set for ourselves. Please accept my sincerest apologies for the interaction with our porter and for the difficulties you faced navigating the hotel due to elevator issues. Comfort and ease are paramount, and I understand how these inconveniences affected your stay. Additionally, I regret that your room did not meet your expectations. The bedding arrangement and discomfort are significant concerns, and we will address this with our housekeeping and facilities teams. Regarding your feedback on the noise and temperature, we are exploring ways to enhance room comfort for future guests. Our breakfast service should be a relaxing and indulgent experience, and it is disheartening that you felt rushed. We will review our operations to ensure this does not happen again. I am, however, pleased that you enjoyed our spa, even though it could not compensate for the shortcomings.
