On our first night at the Centena Trattoria Urbana, apart from our smiling server Mr. Ibrahima, the other two female staff had not shown any enthusiasm in their work or towards us. Saw one of them collect uneaten bread (after the guest left the table) and place it next to other fresh bowels of bread, definitely to be reused. I however, do believe in not wasting food but think it was not hygienic or appropriate to recycle bread between patrons. I could see staff using bare hands. You see staff clearing & cleaning tables and at the same time refilling the bread basket/bowl. Definitely haven't been trained in correct handling of food as no hygiene practices was followed nor in customer service. We put our first night's treatment aside and did return the second night because of the excellent meals. Seeing J again, (I'm naming the staff because upon asking her name she told my wife to call her J, just J) we wanted to walk out but luckily we were served by lovely Theodora. The restaurant was not opened on time, and we heard the same rude staff telling another guest off, even though the restaurant was not opened at the advertised time. The restaurant seems to be very poorly managed. On both nights our food however, was delicious & mouthwatering . Credit to the chef. Thanks to all the very courteous, smiling & obliging staff from the Saturday morning breakfast team. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €20–30 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
