Piccolo locale a conduzione familiare, gentili e premurosi. La cucina tipica di Shanghai è fantastica.

I booked dinner for a party of 9 people, well in advance - more than 2 weeks prior, to reserve. I was in contact in total for 3 times, because we added another person to the party and each time I confirmed the time for our group, which was set to 8PM. We showed up on time, they made a mistake and planned us for 7PM and the place was full and obviously our seats were gone. Some vague gesturing how everything would work out great and they will seat us somehow. I ran down the street to The Yard in case “somehow” didn’t work out. They made no effort to even come clean and say “hey, we messed up and there is no way we can spontaneously seat 9 people now” I had to confront them myself again, because they wanted us to wait in the cold. I write my bookings down in my calender immediately after making them. You said, the mistake was on your end. If a mistake happens - and there is no way you can take the patrons who show up as a bigger group, then don’t waste time. Just tell us there’s no way to remedy the problem - not talking to guests for 15min while they wait in the cold is a joke and when I came in to ask what’s up you vaguely suggested “i’m sure in another 15min something will clear up” I was very disappointed in my experience here - but more so with how they did not come clean and kept wasting time. We regret the confusion around your reservation and the inconvenience caused. This situation doesn’t reflect the standard we strive for, and we appreciate your patience despite the challenges. The mix-up regarding the timing was unintended, and while we made an effort to resolve the situation promptly, we understand that it fell short of your expectations. We should have communicated more directly and efficiently to prevent any unnecessary waiting, and we will ensure this is addressed internally. To avoid such misunderstandings in the future, we now recommend that reservations for groups larger than six be made in written form via email. This will help us confirm and manage larger bookings more accurately. We hope this experience won’t deter you from visiting us again.
