We would like to clarify a few points regarding your recent experience. In Zurich, it is standard practice for restaurants to charge for tap water. The small fee of 1.50 Franc covers not only the cost of the water but also the service, glassware, cleaning, and the overall infrastructure. While this may differ from customs in your home country, we hope you understand that such practices vary from place to place. We politely explained this to you in English, and the charge is clearly listed on our menu. At the same time, another guest also questioned the charge and, after three refills, still refused to pay the 1.50 Franc. There was no yelling or arguing—just a calm discussion to resolve the matter. Unfortunately, despite our efforts to address your concern, the situation escalated unnecessarily. It almost seemed as though this was less about the fee itself and more about creating a scene on principle. Out of your group of five, only you chose to make a drama out of a minor charge. The rest of your group was satisfied with the food and had no complaints. We would also like to correct an inaccuracy in your review: our price range per person is not 50-60 Francs. You ended up paying 29 Francs for homemade roasted duck and tap water. For the past 35 years, we have always strived to treat our guests with respect, and we are happy to address questions when approached politely. However, when an explanation is provided and not accepted, we suggest you take a moment to reflect on your own behavior in this situation. Respect is a two-way street, and we reserve the right to disengage when that respect is not mutual. We wish you all the best in finding a place that better suits your preferences. For future reference, free water is available at public fountains throughout Switzerland. ;)
