Toth’s Chimney Cake exceeded my expectations. Delicious - Freshly baked, fluffy dough, with a variety of fillings to choose from - I chose the vanilla paradise one. I also loved the homemade ice cream and the friendly service. I highly recommend this delicacy to everyone. I took several pieces home for my large family to enjoy. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Nestled in the heart of the Old Town sits a quaint, inconspicuous sweet treat heaven amidst the heavy downpour that tormented us on a rainy day in Zurich. It was then I saw a rather intriguing sign that said “chimney cake”. Curious and desperately needing a place to seek refuge, I went in. It was here where I tasted the rich delicious notes of the hazelnut and sugar coated on the crunchy yet soft chimney cake. The Nutella, whipped cream and strawberries were the icing on top, satisfying all my cravings. Not only was the cylindrical cake a delightful surprise, the owners of the shop were extremely warm too. Yvette, the matriarch, the founder of this shop alongside her daughter, Nathalie worked hand in hand to run this operation. This family owned entrepreneurship brought us not only hearty baked goods but smiles, laughs and friendly exchanges. If you’re ever around Rindermarkt, do pop by and indulge in some sweet treats.
