Attached is the email I received the night of a missed reservation because of an international family medical issue. I urge others to think twice before supporting this kind of owner. I have gone back and forth if I should post this, and ultimately I think this level of unprofessionalism and malice should not be hidden and does not represent the wonderful individuals of Switzerland. Unfortunately, as with every country there are individuals who are careless and cruel. I do not want to get political in my reply and only want to point out that many individual Americans do not stand with our current administration. Regardless, this level of profiling and lack of grace is astounding and despicable. Renate shows their true colors and character in the way they immediately assume ill intent and attack for a missed reservation. I felt terrible we missed the reservation and do empathize with the owners in the inconvenience this caused. My family and I were dealing with our 90-year-old mom/grandmother breaking her hip back in America. The phone calls to the hospital and trying to figure out what was happening caused our vacation to spiral. With this happening at 1700, the restaurant did not open until 1800 so I could not walk there to tell them I couldn’t make it, my phone service kept dropping the call to the restaurant, and to be honest it was not high on my list of priorities to drop everything to let Suder know my family and I were dealing with a crisis. None of my issues are meant to justify a missed reservation, and I feel bad. The response however went above and beyond in its despicable nature and I would hope more grace is extended to others in the future before profiling and belittling potential customers. Service: 1

Good day, GrantNo-shows are a major annoyance for us restaurant owners and are very emotionally charged. We're located outside the city center and are often booked by tourists because of our good reviews. When they realize we're a bit out of the way, we repeatedly experience no-shows.We tried to reach you by phone, without success. You didn't call back either. We marked you as a no-show, and you received a message via text SMS and email. You didn't respond to those either.You then promptly replied to my angry and frustrated email. This raises some questions.Of course, this in no way excuses my frustrated email to you. I've already apologized to you, and I'm doing so again here. I'm sorry, and I've learned my lesson about not reacting so impulsively and recklessly. This does not reflect our commitment to respectful interaction.
