We came in around 8:30 PM and from the start it was clear we were not wanted there. The service was incredibly uncomfortable. Our waitress checked her watch every single time we spoke, constantly looked over at our table, and made it obvious she was trying to rush us out so she could go home. That alone ruined the experience. To make it worse, one of the waitresses was walking around with AirPods in when she wasn’t serving tables, which added to the overall unprofessional vibe of the place. Then came the food — and somehow it got worse. None of our meals came out at the same time. I got my food first, then a few minutes later my sister, and then a few minutes after that her boyfriend finally received his. That’s basic restaurant service, and this place completely failed at it. The food itself was awful. The beef and rice was rubbery, had a strange texture, and didn’t even taste like real beef. The chicken was just straight up terrible — dry, flavorless, and honestly not fit to be served. Between the rushed, uncomfortable service and the completely unacceptable food, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had. Save your money and go literally anywhere else. Shockingly rude staff, even worse than the food which is already bad and inauthentic (yes I say this as a Chinese person). Very disorganised, they don’t tell you that there are two separate ordering points on the buffet one for dine-in and one for food from the warmer, and then proceed to tell you off *loudly* for lining up in the wrong queue, as if you are a queue jumper, when you’ve actually been waiting there longer than all the other customers who are already being served who happened to wait in the right queue! Maybe a sign would help or is that not common sense?? When you ask the store worker how you are supposed to know where to queue because there are no signs she pretends she doesn’t understand English. Yeah sure if you’re a student or need a cheap quick bite it works, but I’m happy to take my money elsewhere as this place is run by a circus troupe, Lin’s Takeaway is so much better and family-run. My large family & I were very satisfied with the food, unfortunately the “boss”/service was unfriendly, didn't feel like working and was rude to us more than once. She wasn't stressed because a guest was there and my family, a service employee was also there, she was still nice, unfortunately she took a break so the "boss", who has been working here for a long time, had to serve us and we noticed that she didn't like doing that. We are also half Asian, we know our culture and we are half Swiss. Swiss expectations are not met here; from our Asian culture that would be a no go! When we asked for a spoon, she even complained to us and said that she is not worthy to serve so she shouldn't work in the restaurant industry. Since my family also runs a hotel and restaurant, we know what is okay and what is not okay at all. You should really value your food and hire a better server. It's a shame about Suan Long. The meal was excellent. We'll never come back and we'll spread the word!
