We’re still talking about this dinner. Thank you, Chef Alain. Without a doubt, it was the most memorable, delicious, and genuinely warm dining experience we had as a family during our time in Zermatt. The name of the restaurant truly says it all — food prepared with love and soul, felt in every detail. Price per person: CHF 50–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We dined at Soulfood by Alain – Winter Pop-Up at Hotel Berghof in Zermatt on our very first night, and it was the perfect introduction to Swiss cuisine. Located at the Berghof Hotel on the quieter side of Zermatt, the restaurant has a beautifully cosy, traditional Swiss interior with a relaxed feel. The evening felt wonderfully intimate, with Alain personally introducing the menu and sharing the inspiration behind the locally sourced Swiss produce. He was incredibly warm, passionate, and welcoming, which elevated the entire experience. Every course was delicious, with immaculate presentation and a refined balance between classic Swiss flavours and modern culinary creativity. This was fine dining without pretence—just pure talent and heart. An outstanding experience and a true highlight of our trip to Zermatt. A hugely talented chef – I would highly recommend Soulfood by Alain to anyone visiting Zermatt. Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
