Chef Alain Turns Dinner into an Experience to Remember I have had the pleasure of dining in restaurants around the world – including Michelin-starred establishments – but it is truly rare to encounter such a seamless combination of outstanding service and exceptional cuisine as I did at Soulfood By Alain. The evening was a birthday surprise for me, and with no expectations upon arrival, I was utterly delighted. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by a friendly waiter who guided us to our table. Shortly after, chef Alain himself appeared, greeting us in a charming and personal way. He enthusiastically presented the full menu (a 4-course dinner with additional palate cleansers) in great detail. This introduction alone set the tone for what turned out to be a memorable dining experience. Food & Wine. The dishes were beautifully presented, flavourful, and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Each plate was thoughtfully crafted, and Alain delivered a culinary journey where every detail was carefully considered. The wine pairings recommended by the staff were spot on and enhanced the flavours of the dishes perfectly. Service. The service throughout the evening was impeccable. The experience was elevated further when chef Alain returned at the end of the evening to personally say goodbye – a gesture that underlined the restaurant’s commitment to making guests feel special. Value for Money. This dinner was not just a meal but an experience – one that I will remember for a long time. Chef Alain’s concept here in Zermatt stands out as a true highlight of my stay, and I can wholeheartedly recommend Soulfood By Alain to anyone seeking an extraordinary dining experience. We went for diner on 1st August weekend. The Chef is super welcoming and friendly, explaining the dishes in French, German and English. My favorite dish was the soup then the scampi. We would love to come back. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CHF 100+

Every once in a while, you come across a restaurant that truly masters the art of dining—and this was one of those places. From start to finish, every single course was cleverly composed and perfectly prepared, showcasing both creativity and precision. Each dish felt thoughtfully curated, with flavors that complemented each other beautifully. The service was just as impressive. The staff was not only professional but also warm and personable, making the evening feel special rather than just another dinner out. The chef’s Alain presence and engagement added an extra touch. To top it off, the wine selection was excellent, offering great pairings that enhanced the experience even more. And despite the high level of quality, the pricing was very reasonable—not at all overpriced for the experience provided. A truly memorable evening, and without a doubt, a place worth revisiting!
