If you’re a craft beer fan visiting Milan, put Scott Duff Pub at the top of your list. This is a true neighborhood craft beer bar—not a tourist spot—and that’s exactly what makes it special. During my visit, I was the only tourist sitting at the bar, while everyone else appeared to be regulars. I was told that about 80% of their customers are locals, and you can definitely feel that welcoming community atmosphere. I tried both the Session IPA and the Scott Joplin IPA, and they were outstanding. The beer selection is excellent, covering a wide range of styles, and they also have beers available to take home. What completely surprised me, though, was their Cantillon selection. They had two full shelves of hard-to-find Cantillon bottles, which is something I never expected to see. If I’d had room in my luggage, I absolutely would have brought a few bottles back with me. The hospitality was every bit as impressive as the beer. Christian, the bartender, and Victor, the manager, were fantastic hosts. They took the time to talk beer, explain the different offerings, and made me feel like I’d been coming there for years instead of being a first-time visitor from another country. They even brought out a complimentary bowl of chips, which was a thoughtful touch. Whether you’re looking to sample great Italian craft beer, hunt down rare bottles, or simply spend an evening in an authentic local pub, Scott Joplin Pub is an easy recommendation. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in Milan. It’s one of those hidden gems that makes traveling so much fun to begin with. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
