If you aren’t a guest at the hotel, don’t dine here. Your seating and service will be sub-substandard to everyone else. You will be seated in a back section where any views of the terrace are blocked by a partition that separates your table from the section for guests. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a side table with a window, which only one person can see out of, but don’t expect good service as a non-guest either. We didn’t even ask for a different table or if there was availability and before taking a step into the restaurant we were quickly informed there was no space on the terrace, fully booked. There were seats that went unused during our whole meal, so it’s disappointing to be shuffled to the back even if there’s space. We were also the only people seated in the back section the entire time we were there, which made it more uncomfortable as every patron looked at our table with confusion as they entered and exited as to why we would be seated alone in the back. Service is definitely different for non-guests too. Our whole meal start to finish was 45 minutes and felt very rushed. My wife and I split the burrata, each had a main and a side, and shared a dessert. We also each had a couple cocktails and wine so it’s not like our ticket was £100 and not worth their time. Then it took 30 minutes for someone to look our way to get the bill. We planned on giving a tip in cash with extra euros we had on hand even after this experience. But the server was perplexed that no gratuity was written and asked if the service was ok, so he made sure to re-print the bill with an £18 service charge. It was very uncomfortable so we still left £10. But the entitlement to deliberately give sub-par seating and service and still expect a tip in a culture where tipping is not the norm? You treat non-guests poorly, expect to get poor tips, I don’t know what else you think is going to happen? I’d recommend essentially every other hotel restaurant we went to over 10 days instead of this. I gave 2 stars because the food was fine, but it’s hard to rate the food when you leave with such a poor taste in your mouth. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Price per person: €100+
