Ogni migliore giornata al Lido si conclude con un ottimo aperitivo in questo bar. Per me è diventata una tradizione! Price per person: €40–50

La vista e il posto in se sono fantastici, storici. Anche le bevande sono di buonissima qualita. Il servizio purtroppo non è all'altezza del posto.Molto probbabilmente sono sotto di personale. Il cameriere cercava di fare il massimo possibile ma era da solo per troppi tavoli/esigenze è quindi l' attesa era lumghissima. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5

What a surprise!!! My husband and I booked ourselves at this beautiful, quiet Auberge a block from the beach in Lido and an hour after we checked, we decided to walk out to have a look at the beach. A storm was brewing in the sky and as the rain started we ran into this massive old, Moorish influenced building and literally stumbled upon the Excelsior Hotel. It was as if we walked into a different time and place which is what we love. We are obsessed with history, and unique experiences that feel like you’re in a gone-by era. As we wandered into the Blue Bar and opened the menu, I was transfixed and thrilled. Being a film buff myself, I did not realize the Venice Film festival took place here and across the street at the Palazzo de Cinema every cocktail had a Leone d’Oro winner themed name. We knew this exquisite bar was world class and the wait staff certainly reinforced that hunch. Shanti in particular, was so kind, informative and excited to know how excited WE were to have stumbled into his world. He explained some of the hotel’s history, informed us of the recent renovations (the owner clearly cares very much about this building and business and major piece of history) and showed us around. After a few Prosecco’s we had to peel ourselves away. We cannot recommend a stop-in or stay at this incredible living and breathing monument to the early 20th century on the shores of Venice- Lido. We hope to return many times in the future!! Price per person: €80–90 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
