We had an amazing lunch at Sulwald Stübli! I know it may look like a simple sandwich and soup in the pictures. In reality, it was a fresh farm-to-table meal. I think my husband said it best. He said it was the best salami sandwich he has ever had. I know, right? I decided to go with the soup of the day that comes with mountain cheese and bread. Best decision ever! It was a yellow squash soup with hints of curry. It was fantastic! I'm not sure of the name for this mountain cheese. Is it Sulsalp? All I can say is that it was delicious, and beautifully presented with wild flowers sprinkled on top of the cheese. It was all very satisfying with the freshly made bread. A light & refreshing meal. We thought about sharing the cheese Fondue, but it was an unseasonably warm day. Another menu item that caught my eye was the Tyrolean Cheese Dumpling. I'd love to try that one day with a salad if we ever make it back to Sulwald. We also tried their signature ice tea which was herbal in flavor. It tasted refreshing and totally matched the natural scenery & ambiance around us. Our server was also wonderful & friendly. She made us feel welcomed. It truly was a beautiful day. Stanly

A hidden gem in the area. Beautiful views of the Jungfraujoch and a serene place of views and quiet. You can access this mountaintop restaurant with the Isenfluh/Sulwald cable car which is about 14,- euro’s for a round trip. Eating and drinking is a bit expensive but seeing as it is in Switzerland and on top of a mountain it is quite okay. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Just ordered a couple of drinks from here, after getting the cable car up from Isenfluh. Thought this might be a ‘budget’ way of getting a view of Eiger, Monch & Jungfrau at a quarter of the cost of going up Mannlicken & hiking the Panoramaweg on the other side so we did this first & yes you do get a good view of the mountains but it’s simply not as good as the other side imho. However, It’s fun driving up to Isenfluh through the spiral tunnel & then catching the cable car. The bonus of going up this side is that it is a lot quieter than the other side of the valley, so if you want to get away from it all, this is probably your spot! We were going to hike to the Lobhornhutte but it was a very hot day & we were simply too tired after weeks on the road by this point so opted against it. Would conclude that Sulwald is a nice, relatively peaceful place to just chill for a couple of hours as we decided to do. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: CHF 1–10
