After 5 seasons in the Portes du Soleil visiting pretty much all the best restaurants on the mountain, this is by far the best fine dining experience I've had. full stop! Update: visited again 28-March with an experienced group inc. a sommelier friend. Absolutely 1st class, by a considerable margin, the best food, wine, service and setting in the Portes du Soleil. Julien, please stay at your stove, you areva master of it and I trust it's your happy place, you made us very happy!! Original post: We finally dropped into Les Clavets, having wanted to visit since Julien Texier (formerly Croix du Cullet) beautifully renovated this absolute gem of a mountain restaurant with views you cannot buy! The food is next level, beautiful presentation, top quality ingredients, cooked perfectly. 3 of us dined in March and had the Tagliata steak, a burger, the tarte du jour (with 3 spoons ;-)) - a delicious lime meringue spending c.45CHF per head including a refreshing beer or three. Exceptional service led by Jonas, with a first-class wine cellar stocked with a fabulous range for all budgets. Was great to reconnect with Julien and Jonas, and we wish the whole team every success for the future, is well deserved! Do make a reservation to confirm they are open, as the restaurant is on the Grand Paradis side of the mountain, accessed from the Ripaille button & t-bar. Later in the season the snow conditions may not allow a ski out... Snowboarders are best to have some ski mates willing to lend a pole and/or have strong legs for a tow ;-) as a few flatter spots, albeit short. (If running tight for time, it's 15 mins to Grand Paradis, then 20/25 to Les Crosets for connection to the 'poor side' ) Enjoy this gem! We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Restaurant Les Clavets on the 1st of August! From start to finish, everything was perfect. The food was simply amazing — beautifully presented, full of flavour, and made with real care. Service was top-notch, with Jonas making us feel so welcome and ensuring every detail was taken care of. A special touch was when the chef personally came around to check on us, which made the evening feel even more special. They are also super dog-friendly, which made the experience even better for us. Excellent restaurant. Breathtaking view and especially excellent food. The interior is very tastefully decorated with an Alpine flair. The new management in the last two years has made a great turn around of the restaurant. The wine list is also very good. I have visited Les Clavets numerous times during the summer and the winter and it never fails to impress!
