Look, don’t get me wrong, I love a Pret. In fact it’s one of the things I miss about the uk, I’d probably fly back just for a decent Pret sesh, but the Zurich airport version is a far cry from what I know and love about it’s uk counterpart. First off, there are no vegan sandwiches or vegetarian sandwiches that weren’t bulked up with cheese; a slight problem for this lactose intolerant vegetarian!! Anyway I got a salmon sandwich (holiday rules to go lax on the vegetarianism sort of allows me) then I mentioned to the lady at the desk that there were no vegan sandwich options, she mentioned it was company policy erm look, we all know it isn’t, Pret is all about vegans and veggies back home, so no need to make something up for my sake. Just tell me the truth, I’m in the downgraded Swiss version of what could be hailed as a uk institution. Let’s not beat around the bush, and just call a spade a spade. Ps 10chf for a salmon sarnie is hilarious (I’m now considering setting up a sandwich shop in Zurich) Service: Takeaway Meal type: Brunch Price per person: CHF 10–20 Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2 Dietary restrictions: Not good
