Lovely family-run hotel, the wait staff at the restaurant were very thoughtful and welcoming. The pool and jacuzzi were great too with an amazing view. Only issue is the rooms not having air-conditioning. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay here.

Only word I can think of is 'AMAZING', the staff are the most welcoming, friendly, helpful, and accommodating I have ever come across, and have been to many Hotels, this one beats the rest hands down, rooms were lovely, food was excellent, situated in a great central location, the greeter Manuel was the most hospitable member of staff who couldn't do enough for you when you entered the restaurant for breakfast and evening meals, Mica our waitress was friendly and attentive, again nothing was too much trouble for them, all the waiters/waitresses were fabulous. Wouldn't normally go back to the same place as like to try different areas & places but would definitely return due to the family run business and the lovely people they have working for them, I can think of quite a few hotels who's staff would benefit from a stay here, I would.also like to mention Sven who I think was the owner, he again was helpful, friendly and accommodating. Excellent, do go if you are undecided, you won't regret it. Rooms: We stayed in room 365, it had a side and front balcony overlooking the Eiger mountain, it had a hairdryer, kettle, bath robes for the spa area, shower gel, towels, great comfy beds, bedside lights, chairs and table, tv (never watched, look at the views instead). Easily the best Grindlewald hotel i have stayed in. Where do i start - it was just fabulous. From arrival we were made to feel so very welcome. We arrived dripping wet on our motorcycle due to heavy rain by Interlaken but this was no trouble at all. The receptionist was friendly and even complimented me on my (really quite poor) German pronunciation. The receptionist showed us to our room and gave us little vouchers for a welcome drink at the bar - which i thought was a nice touch. I was also offered a place in the garage for my motorcycle which i thought was great.The rooms are modern, clearly recently re-furbished and spacious. Our room had two balconies and was perfect. We had time for a swim and relax and im glad we did - the hotel has a fabulous, stainless steel lined, indoor swimming pool and an inside and outside sun lounger area. We went in summer but i would imagine that in winter the views from the poolside are equally stunning.The rest of the hotel is equally modern and well finished. The bar / lounge area has wonderful views of the Eiger and is comfortable with attentive staff.When booking I had the option of going for "half-board" over just bed and breakfast. It was a fairly small uplift to the room rate and, knowing the price of eating out in Grindlewald, i decided to go for it. This was a VERY good choice. The meal was superb, a great choice of foods and we were very happy with our choice to take full-board. The next morning we had an equally fantastic breakfast choice and, having secured a window seat with the best view in Europe, my wife and i agreed that we would have very much liked to stay longer.Grindlewald, for UK visitors anyway, can be a very expensive place to visit - but it is so idyllic that it is a must see for any traveller in the region. Im so pleased i picked the Parkhotel Schoenegg and i will try to return as soon as i can.
