Were here for the third time and just great across the board! One of the authentic places that I didn't actually want to rate in order to keep it as a little insider tip, but the great team (service and kitchen) simply deserves 5 stars!!! Eight hours of wandering the streets of Basel searching for culture, experiences and sights, I was ready for a beer and a bite. I arrived at Matt & Elly during the pre-dinner time when they have a very limited menu. I did not want a burger so I stuck with the beer and the wifi for an hour or two. By the time for the kitchen to open, I was ready to head somewhere else. Delicious craft beers, a friendly bartender who spoke perfect English, a comfortable space to sit inside (heated area outside) and a speedy wifi. This was a superior spot.
