focaccia di recco ottima , ma servita su piastra coperta da tovagliolo appiccicoso : visto che costa 18 euro ci starebbe un piatto.

This place was suggested to me by the owner of a Genoese focaccia place (cooked with a different but excellent variation), who told me that here I would find the Recco focaccia with the original recipe. The first thing that comes to mind is.... Here is the real and authentic focaccia from Recco! But first it is necessary to tell the story of this place. This historic venue was born in Recco as a tavern in 1885, after which in 1960 it moved to its current location and became a real restaurant (also in Recco). In 1983, a few meters from the restaurant, the focacceria "Manuelina", as it is known today, was born and, in 2014, the aforementioned focacceria added a new location, this time in Milan, inside the Annex Rinascente, in Via Santa Radegonda (the venue I will talk about in this review). Thus, the focacceria begins to make itself known even outside Liguria. Having closed the historical parenthesis, let's talk about the focaccias: there is little to say, they are FANTASTIC! Recco focaccia is prepared exactly according to the original recipe: circular base, dough similar to unleavened bread and Recco cheese filling. Flavor explosion guaranteed! The "pizza" (focaccia from Recco, with the addition of tomato) and the focaccia from Recco with pesto are also very good. These too are faithful to the originals. The focaccia with olives, the one with oil and the one with onion are also good, also faithful to the originals. The prices are NOT bad at all, considering the area in which the restaurant is located, i.e. just a few meters from the Milan Cathedral and also from the M1 and M3 stops, Duomo. As for the staff: they are certainly friendly, but the service needs to be improved, both in terms of table service and take-away service or at the tables in front of the cash register. Example: once, it was 5pm (I was also in a hurry, NDR) and there was me and a family waiting at the checkout. Too bad there was no one there and we waited a quarter of an hour to order! This means that coordination between staff elements must be improved. Other improvements I suggest: 1 - add chairs (or comfortable stools) to the tables in front of the cash register; 2 - repair the tables and chairs from pigeons, since the place is located inside a gallery, but still outdoors. This place is fantastic and one of the best in the Duomo area! It really deserves to have such a large clientele, unlike places located in the same street that offer good but overrated products (Luini). And it is even superior to the discreet place next door (Poke House), where certain staff members chase pigeons away the wrong way, causing them to fly into the heads of customers who are eating (and not just those in their establishment). In short, by virtue of what was said in the review, "Manuelina" is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
