Just sublime!! The cuisine of chef Miha Dolinar introduces certain flavors and associations and makes us rediscover everyday products. An unforgettable moment with the added bonus of the chef who remains simple, accessible and passionate about his profession. We talked for many minutes about his cooking and his passion for local Slovenian products. It was a perfect dinner. The restaurant is part of the hotel yet operated separately. It is member of the JRE restaurant club pointing out that you can expect interesting food creation. We were a party of 20 celebrating the birthday and were super well accommodated and served for almost 5 hours. No complaints whatsoever despite being a variety of people aging from 13 till 94. Thanks to Miha (main cheff) for selecting the dishes and Jan (our main host for the evening) who did amazing job by fine-tuning all requests. The food was delicious. Starting with cold appetisers ranging from delicious prosciutto, amazing cheese, different spreads (fish, herbs...) and a selection of super soft and tasty buns and pastry. A combination with smooth sparkling wine rounded the experience. To touch the wine selection - the offering is great and the proposals made by Jan based on my hints were hit on a spot throughout the dinner. Literary everyone got the beloved wine to go with each specific dishes selected. For the warm appetisers we had beetroot soup - texture like at better known pumpkin soup but with specific taste which we have liked. Main was roasted chicken filled with bread and mushrooms and soft cooked vegetables as a side dish. Exquisite. On the end different type of sweets ranging from ice cream with unusual flavours, nice cake and egg white sweet which we call in local language "Spanish wind"... And finish with tasty coffee and Special selection Grappa to spice up the evening. All in all super great and looking forward to come again to taste one of the degustation menus.
