72 chf for a set of sushi’s that 1. Are tiiiiny, more of an appetizer than a meal 2. Are not amazingly tasty feels illegal. The server was sweet but in the end a little shady what it came to payments unfortunately this must be one of the most disappointing experiences i’ve had in a restaurant in my whole life. Sushi were less than average with overcooked rice. Got the “Makitail Combo” (72chf) that came with ~25 pcs of variety of sushi. In all honesty i’ve never felt this scammed, the 25pcs of sushi were the equivalent of pretty much 12pcs of regular 8-10g sushi. Definitely left hungry and definitely didn’t wanna order more to not risk getting the same size sushi. Waiter was nice and food came relatively quick but we were the only ones present the whole time. (10-15mins wait) Unfortunately wouldn’t recommend, specially after reading the reviews concerning the hygiene.. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CHF 40–50 Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2

I visited Makitails in Geneva today at around 13:00 with two friends, and unfortunately our experience was quite disappointing. Upon arrival, there was a noticeable smell of fish, and the restaurant was empty at lunchtime. We had booked via The Fork with a 50% discount, and the offer details mentioned ramen; however, there was no ramen available on the menu, which was confusing. Service was relatively slow, as we waited around 15 minutes before our order was taken. Shortly after ordering, we noticed a cockroach on our table. We trapped it under a glass and informed the server, who removed it calmly but without any apology or visible concern. This gave the impression that the situation may not have been unusual. We decided to cancel our order and leave. Later, the owner contacted me to apologize and mentioned that they were already aware of the issue and planning to address it in the coming days. While the follow-up was appreciated, it is concerning that the restaurant remained open despite being aware of a hygiene problem. Overall, this was not the experience we expected, and although we appreciate the owner reaching out, we will not be returning. I hope the situation is fully resolved before reopening.
