One of my favorite restaurants in Basel. I have been there many times over the years and always enjoy the cozy atmosphere, the friendly service and the beautiful surroundings near St. Johanns-Tor — especially in late summer and autumn. The food is good and reasonably priced. The rice portions are on the smaller side, but additional rice is inexpensive, which I honestly do not mind. What really makes the place special for me is the owner and waitress, who is always incredibly sweet, welcoming and friendly. You immediately feel comfortable there. And yes did I already mention that the owner-waitress is super sweet? Price per person: CHF 20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: Vegetarian meals are available on the menu.

I went to Lotus Garden with friends. We arrived 19:30 pm we place our Order an half hour later, we weren't served until 21:45 Uhr. Worst part of it there were no proper Waitress. The service was bad, the food had no taste all we tasted was just soya sauce. I have never had such bad service or such poor food in a Chinese restaurant. I would never go back there, or even order any food whatsoever from Lotus Garden
