We enjoyed a wonderful sunset at this French brasserie perched high above the lake in Glion. With unobstructed views we needed our sunglasses for most of the meal. The crowd was mostly locals/regulars on a Saturday night and the staff strongly prefers to interact using French. To be honest we didn’t feel all that welcome. Service is formal and they start by giving you just a small menu for appetizers and drinks. There’s an iPad for the vast wine list. We tried the potted fish appetizer (great) as well as fried cheese balls (good). For mains we had the beautifully prepared Arctic char (great), duck breast and what they humbly call lake perch and chips (very good)which was very elevated in true French style. Note: we took an uber to reach the restaurant from our hotel-no problem but at 8:30 at night we couldn’t get one to accept the fare to return. It is possible to get here using public transportation-walk UPHILL from the restaurant (10 min) to the funicular which brings you to a train station where you can grab a train back to Montreux proper (one stop).
