When I have a lovely dining experience, I have to share it on Zomato. This is a hidden gem in Rome. I didn't get a reservation at a restaurant popular for truffles and I found this one instead. After a horrible experience a day before at a sidewalk trattoria, I was hopeful this will elevate my Rome trip. La Scala scores on all levels on the set menu, great taste, fresh ingredients and well portioned, good local wine, value for money and to top it, friendly and warm service. I enjoyed the mussels and the truffle pasta. Georgio, the host served with a smile, a rare trait in Rome and offered options to accommodate my special requests. I will surely visit it again with family.
