hotel esteriormente orrendo, un blocco di cemento che stona in un paradiso come il giglio internamente rinnovato con una bellissima terrazza, stanze ok anche se la mancanza di un affaccio esterno al mare pesa.. servizio poco empatico, prezzo onestamente troppo alto per ciò che viene offerto. forse meno show off e un po' più di umiltà, siete al giglio e non al forte Rooms: 4 Service: 2 Location: 5

Bellissimo albergo a Giglio Porto, direttamente sulla passeggiata del lungomare. Abbiamo preso la junior suite con balconcino ad accesso diretto sulla spiaggia: bellissima, con arredamento di design, ma poco funzionale (nel lavandino si fatica a lavarsi i denti o a farsi la barba...). I servizi sono buoni, ma non sempre trasparenti: lezione di yoga di 1,5h sulla spiaggia con insegnante molto brava, chiara e qualificata scopro solo al momento del saldo che era a pagamento; premesso che l’avrei pagata cmq, ma doveva essere comunicato subito che non era gratis, anche xchè pagando 300€ ca. a notte a persona si poteva pensare che fosse compresa... Il ristorante è consigliatissimo x la cena con prezzi assolutamente in linea con quanto proposto e su una terrazza magnifica! Colazioni sublimi sulla stessa terrazza. Personale cordiale e disponibile. Al di là dei piccoli 'appunti' sopra, cmq un albergo che consiglio! Visited in July 2024 from Canada. Beautiful hotel. We enjoyed our stay here. Room: The hotel and the rooms have a very nice aesthetic. The room was spacious and clean. We were on the main floor, right near the lobby, so we had a nice view of the beach/port. During the day, we could hear people at the beach, and at night, we could sometimes hear people hanging out by the port. It didn’t bother me much, but bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Beach towels are provided, which was great. The room has a very small safe (not big enough for laptops/tablets) and a mini fridge. Bathroom: Hotel provided shower gel, shampoo, and soap, but they had a VERY STRONG floral/feminine smell (like old lady perfume). It was actually so strong that I couldn’t stand to wash my hands with it, let alone my hair/body, so I had to go to a nearby store to buy some shower gel. No facial tissues/kleenex are provided, only toilet paper. Service: Front desk was overall friendly, and gave us advice about the area and helped call taxis. There was a very awkward situation with water, however. Two bottles of water are provided in the fridge upon check in (I confirmed with them on the first day that the water was included and wasn’t an additional charge). I asked the front desk for one bottle on the second day and, although hesitant, she gave me one (as if she shouldn’t be doing that, but was doing me a favour). I thought maybe they only provided the first two bottles for free, which was why she was hesitant to give me another bottle, so we bought our own later that day. On the third day, the water was restocked in our room, so I went back to thinking it was in fact included daily. On the fourth day, they didn't clean/restock our room (not sure why not, as we left the sign on the door), so I asked for a bottle and, again, she hesitantly said she would bring one to my room in a few minutes, but then she never showed up! Food: The breakfast buffet had great food, but it was the same items everyday (not complaining because I liked what they had). You can order eggs and coffees (at no additional cost), and some other items (at an additional cost). The restaurant staff at breakfast was very friendly. The hotel also has a restaurant for dinner, which we tried one night. The food is great and the views are really nice (see restaurant review). Location: Located steps away from the port, it is very easy to reach by foot when arriving in Giglio Island. There is a little clean public beach right in front of the hotel, which is very convenient if you don’t want to travel to one of the bigger beaches. The hotel was close to the bus stop to visit other parts of the island, which I recommend over using the taxi service (bus ticket: €2.50 per person, per ride vs. taxi: €15.00 per ride). Side note (which has nothing to do with my review for this hotel) is that Giglio Island is not easily accessible by public transportation. We were arriving from Rome, and our trip there was very long and stressful without a car/private transfer. In fact, it was so stressful that we arranged a private transfer for our departure from Porto Santo Stefano to our next destination, rather than take the combination of regional buses, taxis, and trains. Having said that, it is more of a "hidden gem" and more peaceful than the touristy spots in Italy. Service: 4
