Se siete in zona e volete assaggiare piatti tipici sudtirolesi, é ideale per la qualità degli alimenti, il buon rapporto con il prezzo, il posto suggestivo al tramonto se é estate fuori, altrimenti sala interna, la disponibilità del gestore. Vi consiglio la prenotazione del posto per le prime ore serali (19/19’30) per gustare il tramonto con una bella birra fresca alla spina assicurandovi un tavolo vista montagna al calar del sole. Presenti anche giochi per bimbi. Non andate via senza assaggiare il tiramisu. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: €20–30

If you are looking for an authentic culinary experience paired with a view that will genuinely take your breath away, Gasthof Köstenthaler is an absolute must-visit. We had dinner here last night, and to say it exceeded our expectations would be a massive understatement. It was, from start to finish, a perfect evening. The Journey & Pro-Tip for Arrival. First, a quick word on getting there: the road leading up to the Gasthof gets notoriously narrow toward the end! If you aren’t used to tight alpine streets, don't stress—just do what we did. Park your car at the Seilbahn Traut parking area and take the easy 5-minute walk up. Stretching your legs while taking in the fresh mountain air is the perfect prelude to the feast ahead, and trust me, the minor effort is more than worth it the moment you step onto the property. Views, Atmosphere, and Genuine Hospitality. Upon arrival, you are immediately greeted by a sweeping, magnificent panorama. The view alone is worth the trip! Watching the colors change over the surrounding landscape as the sun begins to settle is pure magic. Matching the incredible scenery is the warmth of the team. The service was extraordinarily friendly, welcoming, and attentive without ever feeling rushed. You can tell the staff takes genuine pride in their gasthof, treating every guest like an old friend returning home. Traditional Comfort Food at Its Absolute Finest. Now, onto the star of the show: the food and drink! If you appreciate hearty, soul-warming traditional cuisine cooked to perfection, you will be in absolute heaven. Every single dish brought to our table was packed with rich, authentic flavor, beautifully prepared, and served in satisfying portions. To wash it all down, an ice-cold Maisels Weisse was the ultimate accompaniment—crisp, refreshing, and served exactly as it should be. It’s rare to find a place where the atmosphere, drink selection, and food quality align so seamlessly. The Verdict. Gasthof Köstenthaler captures the very best of traditional hospitality: unforgettable vistas, phenomenal food, great beer, and a team that makes you feel genuinely cared for.
