The staff here are really not adequate. During a heatwave, I asked how long ago the sushi with raw fish had been prepared. They told me they were made an hour earlier and had been stored without refrigeration, while repeatedly insisting that “they are FRESH.” I explained that the sushi were for a child, and given the heat — and the fact that Markthalle has no A/C — I simply didn’t consider them fresh enough or safe enough to serve to a kid. We ended up getting lunch for our child somewhere else. I later came back to pick up sweet & sour duck for myself. At the cash desk, the guy started the conversation with: “You know, the duck might not be fresh enough for you.” He then proceeded to accuse me of having a bad attitude and being disrespectful. Honestly, I was completely shocked. I didn’t realize that asking reasonable questions about the freshness and storage of food was considered a “wrong attitude,” or that bringing up a conversation from 15 minutes earlier and attacking a customer over it was an appropriate response. And tthe sushi themselves weren’t even particularly good. It’s just the only spot with sushi at mark Halle, so no other choice. Meal type: Lunch Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I was ignored by the clerk in favor of the person behind me being served first. Even after the other customer told me to go on ahead and order the clerk ignored me *again*. The rushed interaction and unfriendliness dissapointed me. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: CHF 10–20 Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
