This lunchtime I really had an appetite for a tasty, juicy burger and I remembered the very good reviews for the Ida-Beiz in Winterthur. The weather was nice and pleasantly warm and since I got there early, I easily found a great table outside. Of course I ordered the Ida burger with a mixed salad (Chrüsimüsi salad). I also added cheese, bacon and jalapenos to the burger. The plate looked very nice, the burger piled high and stabilized with the knife inserted, the salad crisp and fresh. I always eat the burger with a knife while sitting down, preferring to do so in style rather than spilling it on my clothes. The first cut shows the great layering and the fresh ingredients. Only the meat patty was definitely frozen, rather dry and not airy. Otherwise, the burger was very tasty and - with a fresh, airy patty - would have made me ecstatic. Lunch was still good, the service was friendly and attentive, and the open-air atmosphere with a view of Eulachpark was great.
