The Bahnhöfli Oberi is my favorite restaurant in Winterthur. Since I (still) live at the subsistence level, I can rarely go out to eat, but when I do, then fine. Mother invited me to dinner yesterday and so we were guests in the evening. Although this is not the first time we have visited the Bahnhöfli Oberi, the charm and of course the food were able to inspire us again. I was very stressed in the afternoon and hadn't eaten anything proper yet. But when we took a seat under the cooling plane trees in the garden pub, which is very carefully and comfortably designed, and were served very friendly and attentive but uncomplicated, I felt really comfortable. The garden restaurant is wonderfully protected from the heat and strong sunlight by a hedge and a shady "cover of leaves" from the plane trees. Red, green and blue lamps are mounted on the plane trees, which give off a pleasant light when it gets dark. The other guests seemed to be deep in quiet but cheerfully animated conversations, which created a very comfortable atmosphere. You feel like you are in a little oasis in the midst of the hectic world. Mom and I both ordered boiled beef salad. I garnished, mother not garnished. We were both really very impressed with the salad plates we were served. With both the garnished and plain boiled beef salad, the platter was beautifully presented with a variety of salads of different colours, textures and consistencies, some with customized dressings. Portions are generous enough to fill even hungrier individuals like me. I'll be back Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
