Ottimo ristorante e cibo delizioso. Siamo stati serviti da Niko e siamo rimasti soddisfatti. Niko è stato gentile, simpatico e ci ha consigliato ottimi piatti. Lo consiglio a tutti. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €50–60

Locale in pieno centro dietro al Colosseo. Molto gettonato visto che abbiamo dovuto attendere qualche minuto per il tavolo. Abbiamo pranzato fuori quindi non potrei giudicare il locale dal suo interno. Le portate sono state molto soddisfacenti in particolare il carciofo alla romana era tenero e squisito. Poi come da tradizione carbonara e amatriciana molto buone e di giusta quantità ,buono anche il fritto calamari e gamberi ( ecco qui data la mia golosità avrei preferito una portata un po'piu generosa !! ) mentre per dolce il tartufo di pizzo che è stato sicuramente una chicca ! Conto normale data la posizione ma anche la qualità delle portate. Data l'affluenza x chi non piace aspettare forse è opportuno prenotare. We chose Ristorante Iari The Vino for lunch after visiting the Colosseum, encouraged by its high Google rating. There was a short queue at the entrance but we were seated promptly, and at first everything seemed promising. The staff — including the person who appeared to be the manager or owner — were friendly, and we ordered two pasta dishes, a mixed bruschetta and two cocktails, followed later by a tiramisu and a panna cotta. The experience changed completely when it came to the bill. The first bill included three desserts, even though we had ordered only two. As each dessert costs €8.50, we politely asked the waiter about this. His attitude shifted noticeably, but he said it was “just a mistake” and took the bill away to correct it. We remained calm — mistakes happen — and waited for the updated version. The second bill removed the extra dessert, but now included a €2 per person service charge. Again, the charge itself is not an issue. What concerned us was that this charge was not present on the first bill — the one with the incorrect dessert — and appeared only after we pointed out the error. When we asked for clarification, the manager/owner came over. We expected a simple explanation, but instead he immediately raised his voice and repeated that “it’s written in the menu”, insisting that the service charge is mandatory. We explained several times that we were not refusing to pay; we simply wanted to understand the inconsistency and why the first bill did not include the charge at all. He did not listen. He interrupted, spoke over us, and pretended not to understand the very straightforward question. When we asked him to bring back the first bill so we could show the difference, he avoided doing so, then eventually suggested — indirectly — that there had been another “mistake”. In other words, two errors: 1. an extra dessert added, 2. the service charge omitted. When asked whether two mistakes on a bill for just two people seemed normal, he dismissed the concern entirely and continued to insist that we “read the menu”. The aggressive behaviour and complete unwillingness to acknowledge obvious inconsistencies left a very negative impression. It was especially disappointing because the food itself was genuinely good — the pasta was flavourful, the cocktails were enjoyable, and the desserts were pleasant. We had expected to pay around €85 and were planning to leave €100 as a thank you for the good meal and to post a positive review. Instead, the afternoon was overshadowed by: • incorrect bills, • inconsistent charges, • an aggressive response, • and the strong impression that this pattern is intentional. Adding an unnecessary dessert without a service charge makes the increase less obvious. When the mistake is noticed, the dessert is removed and the service charge suddenly appears. This does not feel accidental. It is a shame, because the kitchen clearly knows how to cook — but the management’s behaviour completely spoiled our visit. For this reason, we cannot recommend this restaurant, despite the quality of the food. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €80–90 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
