Michelin 4-course, 135.-, no wine and enough time to also learn a new language while waiting. This is the second time here and same experience. We sat down at 19:30. We left at 22:50. And we only left then because we finally cracked and complained about the pacing. Two dishes in two hours is not "fine dining tempo," that's a service breakdown. If this is standard, someone in the kitchen needs a serious talk about time management, because a tasting menu should never test my patience more than my palate. It got so bad that one of our friends had to leave before the mains even arrived and you still charged them full price for a meal they never got to eat. That's not a small oversight, that's a billing problem. The good stuff: the individual dishes themselves were genuinely well made, and the house-made bread served alongside each course was a highlight and complimented this dishes well. The catch: the bread only ever showed up with the dish, never in between. So during those long, dead stretches between courses, there was literally nothing on the table. If the kitchen can't speed up service, the least you could do is give people something to nibble on while they wait (well the water which was 11;- per bottle). The langoustine dish was the one plate that didn't work even on its own terms. A chaotic mash-up of fruit and mocha notes fighting the fish for attention. Instead of complementing the langoustine, the flavours piled on top of each other until the dish felt heavy and cloying rather than refined. Less "composed course," more "flavour committee that never agreed on a direction." Bottom line: there's real talent in the kitchen, the bread and most of the individual plates prove that much. But let's be clear: we were one of only two tables in the entire restaurant that night, eight people total. Eight. This wasn't a fully booked Friday night meltdown, this was a near-empty room somehow still managing to lose the plot on timing. And through all three hours of waiting, not once did anyone apologize or even acknowledge the delay. We had to be the ones to say something before anything changed. If you can't manage pacing with a full house, fine, that's tough but understandable. If you can't manage it with two tables, that's not a bad night, that's a system that's broken. The langoustine course needs to go back to the drawing board with a lighter hand, and someone needs to teach the front-of-house that "sorry for the wait" is not an optional phrase.
