Dopo aver guardato il Brera District, vai a mangiare in Hekfan. Ti verrà proposta la cucina cinese in questo ristorante. Vieni qui quando hai fame di ottimi dim sum, bao e filetto americano. Questo locale propone un pan di spagna davvero curatissimo. Non perdere l'occasione di assaggiare i loro deliziosi vino o grappa. Ordina il fantastico tè.

Ci sono stato varie volte ed è uno dei miei ristoranti preferiti ma è chiuso ma è ancora possibile prenotarlo. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner

Professionalità: zero. Venerdì scorso (13/09) ho prenotato TELEFONICAMENTE un tavolo per ieri sera (19/09). Arrivata davanti al ristorante lo trovo CHIUSO. Chiedo ai dipendenti della gelateria situata di fianco e mi sento dire che il ristorante aveva chiuso 2 giorni prima causa cambio di sede in corso. Ma come si fa a prendere una prenotazione per una data in cui si sa che non si sarà in attività? Imbarazzante, non ci sono altre parole. Su internet ovviamente mi segnalava il ristorante come “aperto” senza nessun avviso su eventuali cambi di sede in corso. Per quanto potessero essere alte le aspettative che avevo su questo ristorante e la conseguente voglia di andarci, dopo un comportamento simile per me è diventato inclassificabile. Io e la mia amica lasciate lì senza una prenotazione in centro a Milano durante la fashion week. Purtroppo, per quanto possiate essere bravi nel cucinare, la professionalità e il rispetto verso il cliente sono totalmente assenti. Se avessi potuto gli avrei dato 0. Sconsiglio vivamente.

I do not say this lightly but here goes: HekFan is the best Cantonese restaurant I have had in all of Europe. Its that good. We have had Cantonese food all over Europe and the UK over the past 5+ years and HekFan is the best in both entree quality and faithfulness to Cantonese cuisine craftsmanship. I couldn’t believe that a place in Milan would trump all the luxury Canto places/dimsums one can access in London but thats exactly what HekFan did. HekFan was not even on our original itinerary, we stumbled on it after a day of exploring Brera and the Pinacoteca. For the dim sum portion, we ordered the standard 蝦餃燒賣 combo and xiaolongbao/小籠包, and they were all shockingly great, especially the siu mai and the xiaolongbaos, exquisite delicate skin with plenty of soup inside, not overly thick or chewy. The soup is on the light side and in line with European style pork, very flavorful without being over salty. It was so great that we just gobbled it up and forgot to photograph them lol We selected the char siu, pepper and garlic shrimp, and sweet and sour pork as our entrees. The shrimp was tossed nicely but the two pork dishes really stood out. The char siu is incredibly flavorful and tender and had clearly been slow roasted for many hours beforehand. The sweet and sour pork was topped with strawberry flakes and presented on a bed of ice, which sealed the sweet and sour sauce flavors on the bottom of each piece and gives a very pleasant sensation of “cool on the bottom, hot on the top” when eating it. Just excellent in terms of both quality and cooking technique, these are supposedly simple Cantonese staples that are done terribly in many high-charging Chinese joints across Europe but HekFan nailed it all. Service was attentive throughout the night, both chef and proprietor checked in with us to see whether dishes were to our liking. Extremely surprising in a good way that such high quality Cantonese cooking is available in Europe, HekFan quite literally changed my entire perception of what the ceiling of 粵菜 in Europe is. If you are a fan of Cantonese cuisine and in/near Milan for whatever reason, this restaurant is 100% worth going out of your way to experience.
