TLDR: Expensive yet the food tasted bland. Limited menu and a noisy environment. I usually don’t review but my groups experience at this restaurant was awful. I noticed there weren't any reviews from recently giving warnings about it. We were staying in the connected hotel and it started to rain hard. Since this restaurant was connected to the hotel, this was the only place to go. The food was extremely pricy. We ordered hotpot with a plate of pork (12CHF) and beef cuts (28CHF). Meaning we ordered 40CHF worth of meat. We were then given two small plates of meat that was not anywhere near worth that price. There was no price listed for the soup for the hotpot and we were charged 15CHF for just the soup alone. We asked for a glass of water and got charged another 5 CHF. The small cup of water wasn't even refillable. There was also a table of spices in the front that contained chili oil, garlic, and scallions/green onion. There was no price listed beside the table so we thought it was included with the meal. We got charged 5 CHF a person for getting a small bowl of chili oil. We also got some greens and wheat noodles both costing 5 CHF. Our total came out to 94 CHF/114 USD for 3 people we weren't even full because of the extremely small portions given. The soup had little flavor. The meat barely soaked up the soup. Even with the chili oil (5 CHF), the meat was bland. The wheat noodles didn’t taste right and the greens for the soup weren’t cooking properly and tasted old. The food was mid overall however it was the atmosphere that really ruined it for me. A large group of people came into the restaurant due to a storm outside. They were talking loudly and walking or standing around the restaurant making it hard to move around. They may have been friends of the owner as a few were chatting with a waiter. The fact that the customers came into the restaurant and were making noise isn’t the restaurants fault. However, they could have told them to at least sit down so that other customers can walk to the front to pay or go to the spice table. Very few of those customers were actually eating as well, they were just taking up space and making noise. The restaurant became crowded and loud which was the final straw on top of the already poor food. If I had seen a review like this one before hand, I would have stayed away. I actively enjoy hotpot so this was disappointing. PLEASE do not go here, there are better places just short walk away that are less expensive. The price is reasonable and the taste is good. The chef is very friendly and enthusiastic. If you have interlaken friends, they will definitely introduce you to this place. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
