The lunch special (tofu curry) is extremely good. The homemade lemonades are also very tasty and not overly sweet. Great prices and friendly staff. It’s a hidden lunch gem for me. Price per person: CHF 20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

I found this Vietnamese gem opened on Sundays and just a bus ride from Zurich HB station which was fantastic since a lot of places closed on this day. I ordered the spring rolls appetizer and it tasted like home. These rolls were rolled with rice papers just like how they’re made in Vietnam. What an absolute delight 100/10. My main dish was the Bun Cha Ha Noi, which was the grilled pork with rice vermicelli, herbs and dipping sauce. The savory flavors of the grilled pork and pork patties were definitely there, and the herbs were so fresh. The dipping sauce was absolutely delicious, but it was a different variation from the authentic dipping sauce normally accompanied this dish. I give this dish 9/10 for this reason. The lemongrass flavored lemonade really paid homage to the traditional beloved refresher of Ha Noi. This is an overall solid Vietnamese restaurant in Zurich. A must visit if you’re looking for something fresh, authentic, and delicious. Price per person: CHF 30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I’m updating my review because I’ve been a regular customer and I’ve also brought many friends here, so this comes from real repeated experiences. First, I want to say that the food is still very good and authentic. As a Vietnamese myself, I truly appreciate the taste, it’s not a tourist trap. I especially recommend the Bún Chả Hà Nội (yes, the famous “Obama dish”), the crispy duck, and the pork dumplings. The homemade juices are also fresh and really nice. The place itself is small but has a warm, family vibe, and the owner, Ms Ly, is genuinely friendly and helpful. You can feel she cares. However the service has become a real issue, and unfortunately it’s affecting the overall experience. There is one staff member (older gentleman) who has been consistently problematic: • Doesn’t give you time to order, comes immediately and rushes you • Takes wrong orders, then blames the kitchen instead of taking responsibility • When we asked to correct dishes, it became uncomfortable — almost like we were forced to accept something we didn’t order • Often forgets basics for takeaway (no tissues, no cutlery) • Communication is difficult, and when I asked to speak to the owner, I was told she was “busy” which I know is not accurate The most recent visit was again disappointing. Even something simple like splitting the bill (card + cash) became unnecessarily complicated. I want to be clear: I have a lot of respect for people working in service, and I understand mistakes happen. But what’s missing here is basic hospitality, communication, and problem-solving skills. Instead of resolving issues, they are often deflected. Also, considering the price level is not cheap, this kind of service is even harder to accept. When you pay that price, you expect at least a minimum standard of service. Because of this, some of my friends have stopped coming, even though they liked the food. And honestly, I’ve given this place many chances because I support the owner but I’m now very disappointed. Food alone is not enough if the service is not there. I’m giving 3 stars to support the kitchen and the potential of this place, but I truly hope the owner will see this and make improvements on the service side. Otherwise, even loyal customers like me may not come back. Price per person: CHF 50–60 Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
