The hotel is undergoing extensive rennovations to the spa area. BOAS Hotel and it's CEO Bernard Russo were not wise to keep this hotel open during rennovations. Virtually everywhere you look there was signs of the rennovations. The hotel is cheating guests when it stays open despite being a work site. This is especially the case when it maintains high prices that are beyond what is reasonable for a 3-star hotel. Moreover, there are several features that have significantly deteriorated since our last visit about two years ago. Half the thermal pools are closed and the sauna and hamman are temporary. Moreover, all the facilities close thirty to forty minutes before they are supposed to close. You really get the sense that you are in a tourist trap that is design to extract as much money as possible from you while providing as little service as possible. The internet was very poor and constantly dropped out. The rooms were clean, but very basic with almost no bathroom amenities. The bathroom accessories consisted of a small bar of soap. There was also a single half-filled container of body and hair wash attached to the  shower wall. I have had better and more plentiful toiletries in two-star hotels. The gym is okay, but weight machines are somewhat old and not well-maintained. The lack of maintenance that transcends from the entire hotel is disappointing from what you would expect from a four-star Swiss hotel. Our room was cold when we entered. The heating had not been turned on. At night, although we turned the heating on, it went off. The room, however, was still reasonably warm. The two single beds put together to make a double moved frequently. The cleaner left parts of a broken glass on floor, did not change sheets or towels, and came very late in morning. There is a classic Nespresso machine in the room but only with two regular coffee pods and no decafe. There are two large windows that look out to a small park and a small patio. Unfortunately, just on the other side of the park, a mere 20 meters away, is a busy street that you hear from the patio or in the room if the windows are open. The ground floor room also means that people walking in the park can see clearly into your room at night. There are good shutters and curtains that do a pretty good job of keeping out the morning light. The breakfast is okay and the new seating arrangements were good the first day, but overcrowded the second morning as they had closed-off half the restaurant. The fare was barely acceptable. You could order an omelette, which was the only thing you could order and only a omelette without anything or one with cheese. The hot fare was lacking and even the choice of cheeses, something even no star Swiss hotels excel at, was very limited. There was no fresh fruit and even the tea and coffee was not top quality. In all the breakfast was at best below average, but I would give it a poor given that in the past it was much better. If you are going to stay open during rennovations then you need to charge significantly less and to add perks for the guests. This BOAS hotel did neither. If this is a sign of the BOAS Groups overall management of hotels they are a very poor option for travelers. I have been coming to this hotel for about thirty years, but it is a shell of what it was in the past. Maybe this is only the case until the rennovations are finished, but that is likely until the end of 2027. This is not a bad hotel, but it is a shame that it has dropped in quality and value-for-money in such a short time. Service: 2

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback regarding your recent stay at the Grand Hotel & Thermal Centre Yverdon-les-Bains. I am Matthias Philipps, the General Manager, and I sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you experienced during your visit. As you mentioned, we are currently undergoing extensive renovations aimed at revitalizing our facilities. This CHF 40 million investment focuses on three main areas: a complete overhaul of the spa facilities, a major refurbishment of the Grand Hotel, and the construction of a new communal area connecting the buildings. We understand that these works have impacted the ambiance and availability of certain amenities, and we are truly sorry for any disruption this has caused. During this transitional period, we have ensured that both heated outdoor pools (34° and 36°), the new outdoor sauna, and a heated yurt for relaxation remain accessible to our guests. However, we acknowledge that the temporary nature of some facilities may not meet the expectations set by our usual standards. Regarding your concerns about pricing, we strive to offer competitive rates and have introduced special offers to provide added value during this period. For instance, our "3 for 2" offer allows guests to stay three nights for the price of two, including breakfast and access to the Thermal Centre. We also offer a 15% discount on stays of five nights or more. We are sorry to hear about the issues you encountered with the room amenities, internet connectivity, and housekeeping services. Your feedback is invaluable, and we are addressing these concerns with our team to prevent future occurrences. The renovation project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2027, and we are committed to minimizing disruptions during this time. We appreciate your loyalty over the past thirty years and hope to welcome you back once the enhancements are complete, so you can experience the improved facilities firsthand. In the meantime, if you have any further concerns or would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at [email protected]. Warm regards, Matthias Philipps General Manager Grand Hotel & Thermal Centre Yverdon-les-Bains

Middle of the range hotel. 4 star but probably feels a bit more like a 3.5 star. Arrived on a Sunday evening. Couldn't get food at 10pm either at restaurant, bar or room service. Small town with limited transport links. 1 taxi servicing whole town. No uber. Rooms are clean and ok but bathroom starting to show age. Gym looked good and more modern. Service: 4

Very disappointed and will not stay there again. The hotel itself is average, has rooms which feel rather old and does not impress but nothing too bad either. The worst part comes from the attitude of the general manager that blocks any special request even when offered by his own staff. Better stay in places where one knows what "hospitality" means. Dear MB Att, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience with us did not meet your expectations. While we strive to offer comfortable accommodations and attentive service, it seems we fell short during your stay, and for that, we sincerely apologize. We regret any misunderstanding regarding special requests, and I assure you that your comments have been shared with our management team to address this issue. Our goal is to provide the best hospitality experience for all our guests, and we will work hard to ensure such instances do not happen again in the future. We appreciate your feedback and hope you might reconsider giving us another chance to show the improvements we will make. Warm regards,
