Everything was really right here. The Gasthaus Ochsen has a very rustic charm that you will either love or hate. For me it was clearly the former! You sat comfortably at the table with other guests, which led to conversations. This just fits in with a social meal like fondue. The service was great. Both the owner and the waiter were in a good mood and joking. This loosens up the evening immensely and is simply fun as a guest. The starter platter with cheese, sausage and ham was locally prepared and was convincing. The green salad was nice and fresh and crunchy. Our special requests were taken into account at the fondue. The fondue was great with kirsch, but I liked it a little better without it. The only point of criticism: The portion of potatoes was quite large, so at some point I ran out of cheese ;). The price-performance ratio was sensationally good. In Switzerland I've often had to pay twice as much for food that wasn't nearly as good. If I end up in Andermatt again, I'll definitely come back!
