Se avessi potuto avrei aggiunto anche una stella in più per ogni voce! Che dire, i proprietari sono gentili, accoglienti, bravissimi, professionali! Quel genere di persone che ti fa piacere conoscere! Bevagna seems surprisingly stuffed with highly rated restaurants, but the guides I’d skimmed didn’t mention this one; and, incontestably, they should have. I’m vegetarian, but prefer to frequent omnivore establishments in Italia, and I believe the care shown in catering for my (large) minority will indicate care across the board, and can inform your choice whatever you’re going to eat. These people, host and chef (I assume they’re the owners too), LOVE food, are passionate, well informed, and not for a moment complacent about what they do. I’d be surprised if I have cause to visit Bevagna again (though it’s sweet and mildly intriguing) but if I were nearby I would certainly do so to come here again. Exploring new and unexpected flavours (within the gamut of the easily enjoyed, never fear) as well as classic ones, you can be surprised as well as satisfied, but if you play it safer you won’t be disappointed either. I would be lying and expecting miracles to say that everything was perfect, but it was all very good, interesting, even inspired. I am of an age (50+) that finds their music selection just fine (I heard Hendrix at 3 places in this curious little town), and maybe I’m no expert on Italian poetry (the motto here is food, music, poetry) seems like they’re having a good go there too. You can eat well in Bevagna, and there are a handful of 100% safe options for a great meal, and that handful includes Floyd here, but with them that score is supplemented by doing the not-always-expected rather than the obvious. Try it!
