Ottimo il negozio alla stazione di Renens. Tutto freschissimo con personale molto attento alle esigenze del cliente.

We have been coming to this bakery for years. It's really a mixed bag. It's open on Sundays, which is great, since in Switzerland it's not very common, but then the quantities they produce are always calibrated for minimal waste, which means that in the afternoons, and often already in late mornings, you'll not have much choice. The quality is good, but their pains-au-chocolat have suffered from shrinking of chocolate over the years (but see update below) and their croissants are just ok for the price (little butter). Cakes and other pastries are usually very good. There are two parking lots, but for a while one or more of the employees have been parking on one of them, which leaves only one empty slot. The quality of service is also very variable, since there are multiple Fleur de Pains in the region I think that the staff rotates at least partially, and while some of them are nice and professional, others are clearly uninterested in giving a good vibe to the place. --- Answer and Update after owner's answer --- Pains-au-chocolat have improved recently! Both in amounts of chocolate and overall feeling. I've added a star for this. For the owner : - Thanks for addressing the parking problem. - The "minimising waste" thing coolness factor is misleading you into thinking that you are picking the right strategy. Considering viennoiseries' batch sizes and material costs, compared to the local price, you are actually losing money by training your customers to go elsewhere, or entirely drop the idea of a croissant if they are "late". Even if you were to throw away 50% of a late-morning/afternoon batch for a little while, over time people would account for the increased availability, and overall increase your profits. Environmentally it's also pointless : you are either pushing people to consume something else, which is probably just as consumptive and possibly not local, they have to go further to find what they need. You are not producing energy intensive, luxury products like, I don't know, a large SUV used to go buy bread, you are producing bread products, which have low impact and are a basic need (so you can't reduce the need by just reducing availability, you move it around).

Merci pour votre fidélité et ce retour précis. Nous sommes heureux que l’ouverture le dimanche soit appréciée. Concernant le choix réduit en fin de matinée, il résulte de notre engagement à limiter le gaspillage, un équilibre parfois délicat à maintenir.
