From the moment we arrived at Dumpling Delights, we felt genuinely welcomed. Their commitment to fresh, made-from-scratch food with no artificial additives was truly impressive. Every dish was bursting with flavor and quality. The highlight was the owner’s incredible effort to make a healthy birthday cake, going above and beyond to make the celebration special. This kind of care and attention is rare. If you value amazing food and heartfelt hospitality, Dumpling Delights is a must-visit! I don’t understand the numerous 5-star reviews posted here, although the staff was quite friendly and accommodating. Yes, their food tasted good, the ingredients were fresh and of quality, but the portions were ridiculously small and sold for an excessive high price. Paid over CHF100.— for a very basic, simple lunch (2 appetizers and 2 entrees, without alcohol and without desserts) for 2 people and we both still were hungry afterwards. For instance, the unremarkable CHF10.— scallion pancake was only about one third of the size of a regular plate. The 4 very tiny dumplings cost us 16.—, and the CHF 39.— shrimp plate just contained 5 shrimps and nothing else apart from a few kroepek crisps. The CHF16.— “seasonal” veggies were just a few pieces of bland pak choi without anything else. I eat almost everyday out in the area, but never experienced an Asian restaurant where the portions were so small, without being particularly outstanding or crafted like high level cuisine. The pictures speak for themselves in this case, I think. I cannot recommend this place at this point. When I compare this restaurant with my other favorite Taiwanese restaurant nearby (Lotus Garden in Schlieren), for instance, the difference is even more striking. I’m okay with paying a lot for quality food and service, but here the quality and quantity just don’t match their price tags at all.
