Five stars without hesitation. We had one of our favorite evenings in Rome at Ristorante Da Augustea a Trastevere. The location is easy to reach from the Circo Massimo area, and the atmosphere feels exactly like what you hope for in Trastevereālively, welcoming, and unmistakably Roman. We loved that you can choose between sitting outside along Viale di Trastevere (great energy and perfect for people-watching) or inside among the brick arches and wine-lined walls, which feels warm and intimate. Both spaces were wonderful in their own way. The food truly stood out. The carbonara and cacio e pepe were exceptionalārich, silky, perfectly balanced, and clearly made with care and confidence. We also ordered Roman-style pizza from the wood-fired oven, and the crust was exactly what you want: thin, crisp, and beautifully blistered, with fresh, flavorful toppings. Whether you come for classic Roman pasta or pizza, the kitchen delivers at a very high level. Service was just as impressiveāfriendly, attentive, and genuinely professional even though the restaurant was busy. You could tell the team cares about the experience they create. This is the kind of place you leave already planning your return. If youāre looking for authentic Roman cooking and excellent wood-fired pizza in Trastevere, put Da Augustea at the top of your list.
