Subject: Request for Refund Due to Billing Misunderstanding Dear colonnade Management, First, I would like to express our sincere appreciation for the wonderful experience we had at your restaurant. The food was exceptionally delicious, unique, and truly unforgettable. We enjoyed every moment of our visit, which we chose to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Before arriving, we saw on your website that the tasting menu was priced at 390 CHF per person. Although this was already a significant amount for us, we decided to make the effort and treat ourselves in honor of our special occasion. Prior to the meal, your staff kindly asked about our preferences so they could tailor the dishes to our taste, and we appreciated that level of attention. Unfortunately, our visit ended in a very surprising and disappointing way. At the end of the meal, the waiter presented us with a bill of over 800 CHF — more than double the expected price. The waiter had asked us about our preferences at the beginning of the meal, but at no point did he inform us that his suggestions involved upgrades or additional charges beyond the standard tasting menu. Because English is not our strong language, we relied on the waiter’s guidance and trusted that the meal would follow the price we had seen and confirmed in advance. We were shocked to discover that we were charged an additional 500 CHF for items we did not knowingly order. This unexpected expense left us without enough money for the rest of our vacation, which was very upsetting. Our reservation and expectations were clear from the beginning, and we believe this misunderstanding occurred due to a lack of proper explanation from the waiter, who unfortunately took advantage of our limited English. For these reasons, we kindly request a refund or compensation for the additional charges that were added without our informed consent.
