A PERFECT place to show off GOOD: the wine selection FOOD: The looks of the food is the priority not the taste. They give you all kinds of bread so you dont leave hungry. The food was greasy and SALTY. Even the simple grissini were covered with salt. We had the opportunity to dine at the Carusu restaurant during our stay in Sicily. We were welcomed by a truly friendly and professional guy who accompanied us throughout the entire evening, describing to us with care and passion the entire process of the tasting menu (we opted for the 9-course menu). Very extensive beverage menu with accompanying list of waters and good cellar. The selection of oils is excellent, all local including one of their own production, tasted with an assortment of homemade bread products. The grapefruit welcome drink was very welcome. The amus holes are interesting. Good tongue and meatball appetizer, aesthetically beautiful fake tomato, a little less convincing on the palate, very good cuttlefish and onion nothing special. The former, unfortunately, are not up to par. Tasteless ravioli and fusilli to be removed from the menu. The second ones failed. Cooking of the buffalo spot on, but very salty. Mediocre fish. Very good and aesthetically pleasing dessert. Very nice little pastry shop. We requested an encore of bread which was promptly served to us, unfortunately still frozen inside. Praise to the waiter who looked after us during dinner. We had the opportunity to meet the chef, a very young boy who will certainly have a long road and a brilliant future ahead of him.
