You can feel that people in Europe have the energy and passion to genuinely care for their restaurants, for example, this place seems to have chosen cutlery from some small French artisan brand. Starter — Fried Blood Pudding, Bitter Leaves & Fermented Chili Mayo: The blood pudding is a bit too spicy. When serving, the staff said "be careful, it's super hot", I thought they meant temperature, but clearly it's because the full experience of a place like this is meant to be different wines paired with different dishes, but this level of spiciness makes it hard to find a wine you'd want to keep drinking alongside the food to keep eating. I think something sweeter would have made more sense as accompaning greens, paired with the crispness of a dry white to tame the heat of the blood pudding. I had ordered a sweet non-alcoholic drink, which worked since blood pudding doesn't feel heavy, so a non-wine pairing was fine here. Main — Grilled Half Poussin, Green Peppercorn & Onion Sauce: I think the grilled poussin was a miss? The skin was soft rather than crisp, they didn't seem to go the more common crispy-skin route. But poussin is inherently hard to flavor through, and the onions and sauce around it don't really make sense without the textural contrast of crispy skin to play against. Overall the dish was on the oily side, but that does make it well-suited to wine pairing. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CHF 80–90 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Absolutely fabulous!! The food was creative, local, and well balanced. Deep flavors, welcoming staff, and a cozy and sleek ambience. Definitely my new favorite restaurant in town. Every dish was well thought out, and the progression is exactly right. Some highlights were the sourdough bread and smoked butter, the poussière, and the chicken liver pasta. For sure coming back soon Price per person: CHF 90–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Capet Neo Bistro is a nice addition to Kreis 4 with quite a fresh and trendy interior. We enjoyed our stay, recommend it overall, but would also like to provide some room for improvement (minor). We sat in the big table and loved the natural light we were able to have - quite original and fresh in the Zurich scene. Also, drinks were made right in front of us, and there is also the possibility to eat in front of chefs (although you miss the ambiance of the place). When it comes to food, the menu is small (usually a sign of great care). The choice is interesting in terms of pairing (eg: a dessert with some black garlic) with still some nice classics (spaghetti alla chitarra, agnolotti), but with a twist. We tried a couple things, and what stood out to us were the agnolotti (not a huge portion but good for sharing), definitely Italian approved. The filling was just perfect. It was compulsory (for me), to eat all the sauce with bread, and I liked their brioche and the butter. Also the sticky toffee pudding was a great choice (indeed, a waiter told us they brought it from their other restaurant). The spaghetti seemed home made and I loved the mushrooms (I believe it’s oyster mushrooms), the portion was very good, but it lacked a bit of salt. Some pecorino would have made the difference. The quail was our least favourite, because it wasn’t the easiest to eat, and there might be bones that you can’t really spot below its crust - the inside was also rather bland (a bit like boiled chicken, but only, it’s a quail). After the agnolotti and the kidney (really tasty and original), we felt that dish somehow didn’t fit in the menu. We would have preferred if it came already in pieces because it required full hands and attention. We liked our drinks, a full section of wines that is interesting. The price is overall proportionate with some smaller pricier portions and some fairer ones. But again, the overall impression is that ingredients have quality and that the menu was well thought. We will be back because we’d like to try more things out. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CHF 100+ Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
