The most expensive glass of TAP water in Switzerland: 4.90CHF When we told the waiter we had explicitly requested tap water (alongside another costly, tiny iced coffee) he very rudely said that it was the same as a glass of soda or beer, that you paid for the service… In Lausanne a whole carafe of fresh tap water that you can refill anytime is FREE. Price per person: CHF 1–10

There's a hidden-away terrace with plants and sun umbrellas which could be idyllic for an apéritif and quiet chat in summer. Unfortunately the service is an absolute catastrophe. They should call the unfriendly waiter (or the "Wirt" as he is called in German) "Halley's Comet" as he comes round once in 75 years and seems to regard customers as an unwelcome interruption to an otherwise peaceful afternoon. After waiting some time I had to go inside and almost beg for a beer. I'm not going back until this guy is replaced. Service: 1 Meal type: Other
