Dopo aver visto il Swiss National Museum, è ora di fare una pausa in questo ristorante. Un menu variato basato sulla cucina francese è ciò che ti viene offerto al ristorante Brasserie Süd. Ideal for a lunch while stopping-by Zurich HB. Food is good quality and menu options include meat and fish options as well as vegetarian. A daily menu is available, giving the possibility to speed-up the stay in case you are in a time pressure. I went for the daily menu, including a delicious soup, a meat based main course and, if you like, a dessert. Nice idea to serve desserts carrying a wooden cart, giving you an easy and visual choice. Staff is super friendly and caring. Lastly, a special note on the venue from an architecture perspective: the high ceiling, the symmetrical positioning of tables and the furniture give to the place an own and elegant style. A culinary experience that I didn't have in quite sometime! The ambiance was stylish and cheerful, open. The obliging uptightness of other restaurants in this category was transformed into something else, which gave vibes of pleasant relaxation. "More than your business like environment yet less pretentious than the elitist environment".. I immediately liked many guests dining at neighboring tables, and somehow it felt, that the feeling was mutual. The quality of the food was on utmost perfection and yet you did not have to wait for hours. The waiters were pleasant, observant and would let you indeed feel well served! I did enjoy my 50th Birthday gere, and everyone and everything made this quite a day/night to remember for me! There was even a prepared Birthday cake for me with candle! Truly special! Thank you! PS. And damn!!! ... that Rossini variant of Beef Filet with morels and sauce!!! An explosion of the senses!! I hadn't planned to eat in the afternoon. But passing by Brasserie Sud, I thought I'd try it. I was warmly and kindly welcomed by a "Bavarian", who let me choose the table. The choice of menu, not having a large selection, didn't take much time. On the contrary, the choice of wines was more interesting and took me more time, opting for 2 different wines. I would certainly have been a dreamer, if I thought I could eat 80 gr. of beef steak tartar, fillet, cut with a knife, for 29 francs. In reality it was a beef tartar, (Bell Metzgerei style, by Coop), plus with mayonnaise on top, never seen before. In any case the wines played the main role, making the afternoon..... less bitter.
