Un ringraziamento speciale al personale del Caffè Pitti per la gentilezza e il grande aiuto. Una bimba (turista) ha iniziato a perdere sangue dal naso e i camerieri sono stati fantastici: ci hanno fatto usare il bagno, ci hanno fatto accomodare e ci hanno subito portato ghiaccio e tovaglioli. Grazie davvero per la vostra splendida umanità! Tra l'altro, fanno anche un caffè ottimo: veloce e squisito. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: €1–10

Bar e pasticceria eccellenti, perfetti anche per un aperitivo o un pranzo veloce. Servizio impeccabile, la signora è sempre gentile e sorridente. Ci vado spesso con i turisti o prima di iniziare a lavorare. Consigliatissimo se siete in zona Pitti! Atmosfera bellissima: io con la pinza a forma di melanzana e lei al pomodoro, in perfetta sintonia! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: €1–10

Embedded on the far right hand side of the Grand Cortile ( courtyard) under the arched walkway, the improved “ Bar Pitti ~caffetterie e bistrot “ has a long way still to go… if getting a decent coffee is any indication… This afternoon all the (downstairs) self service tables -uncomfortably jammed together inside - we’re taken …so my husband & myself were obliged to use the table service option set up immediately adjacent, outside. Now as a tourist I really do not mind paying extra for table service- so long as what I’m being charged for…is actually delivered > & here it’s a rip off . Bigtime. We ordered our Macchiatone coffees -& especially requested they be served ‘Caldo’ (HOT!) . We waited an inordinate time for the coffee to finally arrive ( the order is electronically made by the waitperson who apparently never goes to get it from the barista. Instead yet another waitperson brings it..& obviously the coffee had been sitting MADE, but not collected-some time earlier because the milk foam had collapsed… & of course the drinks were certainly NOT HOT ! Grrrr… It’s a à lazy schemozle - & at an outrageously expensive one at that..€ 5 each for second rate coffees@ 5 Star prices. Not On. Only go here if you can either find yourself à free spot seated inside at one of the 3 only downstairs tables ( NO- ONE ever climbs the steep stairs the unused upper seats) - or have your coffee local style ( still expensive @€1 90!) > stand, gulp, pay & go . It’s not good enough to pay top dollar for espresso coffee that is not nearly good enough in the land of espresso-where it all began. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3 Meal type: Other Price per person: €1–10 Wheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible outside- inside only at a table with great difficulty
