If you look at other sites you will find much more flattering reviews of this hotel, because in fact I was a regular customer; I speak in the imperfect tense because after the last experience I sadly experienced a shocking drop in quality in the management of the hotel, as well as having been the protagonist, despite myself, of a couple of truly unfortunate situations. The first of these occurred in the days before my arrival: having lost the booking email, I called reception to ask for confirmation. On the other side I found a rude, annoyed voice which, despite having solved my problem, did everything it could to make me weigh it with phrases like "are you happy now?", or by pressing me when I said I didn't remember which site I had booked from . I thought that a bad day could happen, and in any case I was in the wrong. We arrive at the hotel and are greeted by a rude person, sweaty and with his shirt open to show his health shirt, once again annoyed and furious. Now, given that I am as far away as possible from the assumption that "even the eye wants its part", I expect a minimum of decorum from a 4-star hotel. But here too I overlooked it. Just as I overlooked the increased cost of breakfast (18 euros each, but to be honest you can choose if and when to have it) and the lack of higher pillows than those supplied (the staff shrugged at my request). I was a little less happy to find, on one of the bath towels, two brown stripes, the nature of which I preferred not to investigate. The absence of a bidet in the room was another disadvantage, also because when booking it was said that it was there, but let's move on. The second and most serious unfortunate event occurred upon departure. We had specifically requested a 5:00am checkout the night before, as our train was at 5:45am; the guy at the reception even made the gesture of taking a note and assured us that someone would be there. Please note: the reception is 24 hours a day. Double note: the room had been paid in advance, it was only necessary to pay for a breakfast and two withdrawals from the mini bar. We get off at 4.57am and find the reception unmanned and the hotel closed. With the taxi already booked, we were unable to get out. We tried calling again and again and knocking on various doors, but nothing. I, who suffer from claustrophobia, was struck by an anxiety attack and was already planning on missing the train, with all the inconveniences involved. Finally, at 5:17 the receptionist showed up, who WAS NOT APOLOGIZED and actually downplayed the situation, saying that he had been "in the bathroom for two minutes", that "it can happen to anyone" and that I wouldn't miss the train , "the station is so close". It would have been enough to apologize for the delay, even though we had widely announced our needs, and at least we would have understood; but no: still rudeness and arrogance. They certainly didn't save us from running so as not to miss the train. I give two stars and not one because the location is excellent and the price competitive compared to equivalent structures (certainly the services and staff are no longer 4 stars); however, the disappointment is truly great, to the point that in my next trips to Milan I will carefully avoid returning to what was my point of reference in the city. Obviously this should not be a problem to be passed on to the customer in terms of disservice but it is only a partial justification for the confusion transmitted to them.
